Dr. Kari Emsbo is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.  Following her undergraduate education at Wellesley College, she attended the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at UMDNJ.  Upon graduation, she was awarded the Alumni Association Award as the student who best demontrates the high ideals of the medical profession and maintains the highest standards of personal integrity and concern for the medical school class. After her residency at Mount Auburn Hospital, she brought her passion to bring optimal care to her practice in Lexington in 1997 and then moved her practice to the Marino Center for Integrative Health in 2003. In her quest to learn additional strategies to help patients find optimal health, she transitioned her practice to Visions HealthCare for 5 years. As Director of the Allergy Department in 2014 and 2015 and with training by the American Academy of Otolarngic Allergy she endorses the safe convenient sublingual allergy care by using prescriptions through Allergy Choices (allergychoices.com) to reduce allergic asthma attacks, allergic eye and skin symptoms as well as recurrent chest and sinus infections. With training at the Institute for Functional Medicine she helps identify possible root causes for a patient's illness and uses targeted medications and therapies. She supports integrative strategies for the individuals who see her for primary care.
